• Second, check the smoothness of the tableware surface

Check whether the surface is rough, whether there is a sense of unevenness, whether the colored tableware is faded with a white napkin, and the qualified melamine tableware has high density and large specificity compared with the counterfeit tableware produced with urea-formaldehyde resin raw materials. What’s more, qualified melamine tableware with identical appearance specifications is about 5% heavier than counterfeit melamine tableware.

• Third, check the smell

Whether the tableware has any peculiar smell. Qualified melamine tableware doesn’t have any peculiar smell.

• Simple test:

Refer to the damp and heat resistance test method in the "Melamine Tableware" standard to simply test whether the product is qualified: boil it in boiling water for 30 minutes, then take it out and leave it for 1 hour, and repeat this 3 times. If the tableware appears white, astringent, blistering, cracking, and pungent smell during this process, it means that the tableware may have quality problems.
